Turtle Island Communities

Federation of Turtle Island Communities

The Federation of Turtle Island Communities—a group of communities
with shared responsibilities—is a name for a way the world can be
organized for peaceful relations to endure.

In the Federation, power is the generation of well-being for the community.
With a sense of reciprocity within this structure, members of the community
can manage their family relations and individual needs.

An experiential myth is generated by a community who are of one mind in
the moment. A myth is always fresh as it generates a unique meaning
during each occasion.

Turtle Island is a name for Earth or North America, used by
some American Indigenous peoples, as well as by some Indigenous rights
activists. The name is based on a creation myth common to
several indigenous peoples of the Northeastern Woodlands of North
America (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtle_Island).
